How about if we don’t call him anything but an American?

  2. Earl Says:

Why can he not be referred to as “white” or bi racial. Is he not just as much white as he is black?? Is “black” used for political expediency?? Just a thought.

Too much effort is put into deciding what to label people. Get over it. He’s a candidate for president; nothing more, nothing less. Is the color of his skin going to affect the way he runs our nation? I think not, and challenge anyone to present evidence of the contrary.

African American, Asian American ets: who invented those names, so often used for political reasons? Are we not just simply Americans, nothing less or more?
I feel, politicians use “colors’ way more often then ordinary people, again to promote their political agendas

As for Obama, he seems to be willing to associate himself with anything which may help his political career:
    - Reverent Bright and Chicago black community which helped him to US Senate
    - His book dedicated to his father
    - Calling his grandmother a racist
    - Braking up with rev Wright and his church
    - Praising his grandmother for raising him, owing her everything he has achieved
    - Condemning fathers running away from their families (e.i his father) during Father’s Day speech

    - etc, to much to list

For HISTORICAL reasons: AFRICAN-AMERICAN is appropriate.
