  1. Ron Says:

Cohen has his facts wrong. He talks about correlations between Vietnam and Iraq. Well the Vietnam war was funded by the Kennedy administration (sent US advisor’s etc) and was greatly expanded by Johnson (FYI both democrats) Nixon won his first election by saying that he had a strategy for ending the war, namely bombing Hanoi. As I recall, the peace conference of Paris ended the war (officially) until the North invaded shortly after and Saigon fell. Doesn’t sound like much of a correlation, but then again democrats never worried much about the facts.

  2. Hoang Says:

I doubt that the people that support McCain, like rich white people or older conservative people are going to be on this site. I don’t think this poll will be very accurate in determining who might win for the Presidential election.

  3. Adam Says:

I do believe those aren’t the only two candidates.

  4. Brathor Says:

    Ron,
Nixon also won because RFK was shot that year during the primary. Without that, Nixon may very well have lost and we would be living in an entirely different world. Just FYI.

  5. pollster Says:

I do believe the last 3rd party candidate to win was Teddy Roosevelt in 1912.

  6. timpj5 Says:

I don’t plan on voting for either candidate. Obama is a socialist and McCain is not the answer. If I had to pick between the 2… I would probably vote for McCain. But since I’m not required to vote for either candidate… I won’t.

  7. Ray Says:

Faulty poll. You should have a “Neither” category…

  8. Mtrsprt Says:

John McCain is CLEARLY the better choice for the American President. It’s a no brainer here folks.

  9. Dani Says:

    Obama 2008

  10. Miguel Says:

Not excited about either choice but the media bias has poison me against Obama. Same Media that picked Johnson, McGovern,Carter, Dukukas, the Serial Sex Offender Clinton, Al Bore, Swift Boat Kerry. By the Way to Pollster Teddy Roosevelt lost in 1912 Wilson won.

  11. Noah Says:

Obama is a joke. Research the facts.
    He is:
1.) PRO-ABORTION. (only senator to vote for after-birth abortion) Look it up.
    HE’S FOR KILLING BABIES PEOPLE!!!!!!

2.) PRO GAY MARRIAGE. (but uses fancy wording when speaking to anti-gay groups to make them think he dosen’t approve.)

MY FELLOW CHRISTIANS YOU CAN’T IGNORE THIS.

3.) ANTI-DRILLING, NUCLEAR ENERGY (which means CONTINUING GAS PRICE INCREASE. Everyone is already and will continue to fill the effects of this.)

4.) HE’S A COMMUNIST. (His beleifs are based in communism. Take money from the rich, succesful workers and give it to the poor people who don’t work and want everything handed to them for free.)

!!!!THIS WILL BE THE DOWNFALL OF OUR COUNTRY. IF YOU TAKE WEALTHY PEOPLES MONEY AND GIVE IT TO PEOPLE WHO MAKE NOTHING OF THEMSELVES, THERE IS NO DRIVE TO MAKE SOMETHING OF YOURSELF. WHY WORK HARD WHEN YOU CAN GET EVERYTHING FOR FREE!!!!!!

4.) FOR HIGHER TAXES. (He states he will not renew the “BUSH” tax cuts. Which will result in an increase in taxes.)

I don’t love Mccain, either. He’s wrong on some issues.

    but remember this

YOU DON’T VOTE TO GET THE CANDIDATE YOU LIKE IN OFFICE,
YOU VOTE TO KEEP RADICALS LIKE OBAMA OUT OF OFFICE.

  12. Katy Says:

Noah, I couldn’t agree more! You hit the nail right on the head. One more good point about Obama is universal healthcare, which sounds great but if you research what it’s affects have been in other countries it’s Crazy! They first tell people universal healthcare will mean everyone gets coverage, right? WRONG!!! When this gets passed in a country the doctor’s aren’t paid as much (so a lot of decent and good doctors quit for better paying jobs) and people are quickly told they won’t be covered after all because the problems they have are self inflicted. Oh, you’re a smoker and you have breathing trouble; too bad, self inflicted…Your overweight and have diabetes; too bad, you did this to yourself….You have liver problems and you were a drinker; so sad, self inflicted…etc, etc.

  13. Katy Says:

Oh, and Hoang, this is in response to your comment that “I doubt people that support McCain, like rich white people or older conservative people are going to be on this site” is false in two parts:
1 Rich white people and older conservatives now own computers.
2 I’m neither rich nor old and I’m voting for McCain, as are many of my friends!

  14. budg32 Says:

Noah’s response is sad. Christ says to help the poor, and nation’s that turn there back, and only concern is love of money - will be punished. Noah, you are a sick, miss-informed person.

But this is a secular nation? Do you want a religious state, like Iran?
Is McCain or Barak running for Pope? In a religious state. Only God will judge those that have abortions.

Obama has support from conservative business people, such as JOHN BOGLE - found of Vanguard Funds, PAUL VOLCKER - Ex Fed Res Chairman that beat inflation under his term, and WARREN BUFFETT - wise businessman from Nebraska - these are not nut cases (like you seem to be) and are rock solid Americans that are giving centrist economic advise to Barak. Get real, McCain is a great American, but a bit senile, too old for this job.

  15. Barbara Martin Says:

    Obama who?

I can’t vote for someone who can’t let us know who he is.

  16. Angeles Says:

A Republican - is anybody kidding???? Thank you to a Republican administration the next President will inherit a record budget deficit, estimated at $482 billion dollars. The vote is clear - OBAMA 2008.

  17. Randy Says:

Your tiny poll is just as corrupt as the Commission on Presidential Debates. If you want to get a realistic view of what true Americans want to need to list EVERY candidate that state ballot access in enough states to get the electoral votes to win. By the way, the reason a third party candidate hasn’t won is because of the unconstitutional rules of the CPD and the unconstitutional ballot access laws put into place by the Republicans and the Democrats. I’ll be voting for Liberty this year, I’ll be voting for Bob Barr.

  18. Lovean Says:

First, Florida delegates are not counted because of the fiasco with the Presidential Primary. Hilary won the state of Florida, hands down, but Obama gets the prize. My vote did not count because I voted for Hilary…. just like my husband and many, many other Floridians did.

NOW…. when I was considering either voting for McCain OR staying away from the polls entirely, that choice is taken away from me. McCain’s choice of an UNQUALIFIED BIMBO for his V.P. removed that choice.

Lots of news people are saying that Palin was chosen to draw disenchanted women voters from the Democratic camp. HEY… I am one of those disenchanted voters… and I am a woman. McCain is not drawing me to his side. McCain INSULTED ME and other intelligent independent women by his choice of Palin.

We MUST NOT let this woman represent the United States of America. Once the most powerful nation on earth, if the McCain/Palin ticket wins, we will be the laughing stock of the world. We cannot afford that.

I refuse to be silent and let that woman represent me. I will use my voice to sway as many people as I can to vote for Obama. No matter what I think of Obama, we cannot afford to allow McCain’s half-baked plan succeed.

  19. NCJoy Says:

Noah… Bless your heart. I need to say an extra blessing for individuals like you. You start out as if you are a Christian, but when I read further it is clear you certainly are not.
Barack Obama represents Change. I understand Change for many of you instills fear. You are scared that this Young Inexperienced American will take away the lifestyle you have become accustomed to and love. Fear Not, my fellow Americans. There are enough resources here in America that will support us all. Unfortunately, the majority of Americans have not been able to enjoy these resources because in the last eight years, the poor are becoming more poor and the rich is getting richer. Obama is trying to level the playing field. The American Economy is in the worst shape since the nineties. Foreign relations are basically at ZERO. Health Care..is a joke. No one with a conscience and a sense of reason can tell me that this is OK, and should continue. Everyone please place your vote for America, not for yourself..but for America. That is the only way we will be able to survive what is in store for us. God Bless America!!!

  20. Jack B Says:

Noah, you’re an idiot. That is all I have to say about that. Good day sir.

“A Republican - is anybody kidding???? Thank you to a Republican administration the next President will inherit a record budget deficit, estimated at $482 billion dollars. The vote is clear - OBAMA 2008.”

And McCain has already stated that he will continue those failed policies, increasing the deficit even further. There is still hope that the USA can recover from the Bush Administration’s 8 years of chaotic policies, but that hope will deminish if McCain wins this election.

I hope more independent voters realize that McCain is more of the same.

  22. Linda Says:

McCain is a far better choice then Obama. Sarah Palin is even a better choice then Obama. Oh my gosh!!!! Never Obama………..Mc Cain is the one.

    -Linda

  23. cheryl Says:

McCain has the experience and the intelligence to be the next president. Obama wants to raise the taxes of hardworking individuals and hand it out to those too lazy to get a job. National healthcare is a joke. Doctors will no longer manage our care and help us to make our own medical decisions. A third party will control all of that. Need a life-saving procedure? Well, call your case manager and they will look into it. For those of you insulted by the choice of Palin, how can a strong, intelligent woman insult you? Well, maybe you have no intelligence of your own. If anything, you should be insulted by the thought of Hillary running for president. You would vote for a woman who let her husband cheat on her and humiliate her in front of the nation? McCain/Palin is the only intelligent choice for the next president, for those of us that want to control our own lives and make our own decisions. For those wanting a dictatorhsip, you could vote for Obama, or just move to Cuba.

  24. iUseMyBrain Says:

I couldn’t disagree more strongly with Noah. In fact, I’m so incredibly and painfully frustrated that I just had to give hope to anyone else out there who shares my disappointment in some of America’s citizens by posting the reassurance that there are, in deed, others out here who are strong Obama supporters and believe that there remains the chance for change.

  25. Amy Says:

Obama may not have the “resume” or “experience” that some think should be required for one to become president but my goodness. Quite a few of these so called well qualified, experienced candidates who have had these qualification sure seemed to mess this country up a whole lot. Maybe a fresh face, an average human being, could actually set us on the right track. Obama is my guy and hopefully my children have a better future in store for them because Lord knows if McCain is anything like George Bush (and I believe he is) then most Americans should know we have a rough road ahead of us. VOTE OBAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!

  26. Anna Says:

I worked hard for my money and I don’t want the DEMOCRATS/HIPOCRITS to tell me how I should spent my money!

  27. Anna Says:

Amy! I am guessing you have have a lot of money in the bank to vote for OBAMA! Don’t be selfish! I have kids to feed and I need to spend my money to my kids NOT GIVE THEM AWAY TO OBAMA!

  28. Anna Says:

I rather VOTE for “SARAH PALIN” instead voting for OBAMA that surrounded by his crazy friends. Can you imagine having a president that has a “FRIEND” that hated AMERICA! You all Obama fans are insane! I guess you don’t care about who you are.

  29. drudge2 Says:

Anna: would you rather vote for the republican candidate who has “FRIENDS” who hate the America? And not just friends, herself and her husband? Don’t forget, Palin and her husband were members of the Alaskan Independence Party (yes, MEMBERS. The videotape is on YouTube with the president of that party stating so). The founder of that party stated: “I’m an Alaskan, not an American. I’ve got no use for America or her damned institutions.” He also said: “The fires of hell are frozen glaciers compared to my hatred for the American government,” AND “I won’t be buried under their damn flag,” Sarah Palin championed their cause even telling the AIP: “Keep up the good work” (That tape is on YouTube as well. That sounds like traitor talk to me. Anna: have you and the republicans become so desperate that you would want someone who believes THAT to run our country?

  30. cheryl Says:

As a hard-working American, I would like to see my paycheck instead of most of it being taken away to feed those too selfish and lazy to work (AKA democrat supporters). Get a job and pay for your own healthcare, your own housing, your own food, your own children, your own utility bills, like the rest of us!!!!!

  31. s Says:

Some people don’t have it in their power to get a legit job and pay for everything. It just doesn’t work that way. These people DO indeed try their best.

  32. s Says:

also - I don’t see anybody mentioning the amount of money that was put into the war in Iraq. Tons and tons of money, which COULD pay for everyones health care. Or for those who desperately need it.

  33. s Says:

Republican convention looks like a cult. Devil

  34. drudge2 Says:

Cheryl: You are under the interesting opinion that everyone on the dole is a registered democrat. You need to get out more and stop reading the conservative propaganda. I’ve met a number of food-stamp families who are Bush and McCain supporters. But if you insist on just reading to gather information, I suggest you read most of the older republicans’ autobiographies—the people who grew up during the depression—and hear them talk about how government programs saved their families. Read Clarence Thomas’ book: he decries government programs now but he never turned one down at the time. Listen to some of Rush Limbaugh’s old radio programs when he talks about the days he was too fat and lazy to hold a job and lived on food stamps. And speaking of government money, Gov. Palin actively sought out money for the Bridge to Nowhere, then decided against building it when it became a national joke. Funny thing: SHE NEVER GAVE THE MONEY BACK! How’s that for fiscal responsibility?

  35. dbcad7 Says:

Well, I watched McCains acceptance speech, and I like him.. but.. there are so many lies, and just mean spirited BS in his campaign, that I don’t trust him… for example, they pick Palin, find these things wrong with her, and then keep spouting off how the Democrats are attacking her, when they are not.. and then she does the same thing… I have had enough PROPAGANDA the last eight years. I want some integrity back… The wealthier people seem to have these fears that Obama is going to cost them all this money, but it’s stupid.. when the poorer people in this country have some money to spend.. they will make money.. just like they did before Bush screwed this country up…. If you want to continue living this existence of fear, fear of the dangerous world.. fear of your own government which the current administration has grown (not reduced).. then by all means be a scared, paranoid, wimp.. and continue the insanity and vote for McCain… because that’s just more of the same fear…. personally, I am not afraid of the boogyman.. we are a strong country, the fear only makes you weak.. We need to be better in the WORLD, and I don’t think McCain is going to do that.. and his honesty is just not there for me.. another example, saying that it is Obama that has the lobbies behind him, when they lobbyists are all at HIS convention partying !!
